Time to Read: 4 minutes

The AmazonBasics Pop-Up Canopy Tent is a spacious canopy tent option, but this tent is not recommended for use in the rain and wind. It’s among our value picks, offering incredible function for a low price. It’s well-received by customers and would make for a great tailgate tent on a budget.

Features

The AmazonBasics Pop-Up Canopy Tent comes in three colors: blue, white, and grey. The canopy is 10×10 feet and cathedral-style. The leg design is angled outward slightly to offer more structure. This chews a couple inches off of the shade provided, going down to 96 square feet from a maximum 100 square feet. No big deal.

The AmazonBasics Pop-Up Canopy Tent is made of polyester to minimize sun exposure and protects from 99% of UV rays. There are no sidewalls. The legs are adjustable and can be placed into flat or uneven ground. The frames are made of steel and coated with white powder to reduce peeling, rusting, and chipping. The exact measurements of the tent are 118.10 x 118.10 x 96.50 inches, and it weighs 43.66 pounds. This canopy tent comes with a 1-year limited warranty from AmazonBasics.

Setup

This pop up tent comes with polyester canvas, rope, pegs, and storage bag. The steel frame pops up out of the storage bag with the canvas on top. The frame must be pulled in opposite directions to fully extend the tent. Sliders are attached to the frame and can be moved up or down to click the frame in place. The height of the legs can be adjusted. Hooks and loop fasteners strips are attached to the canvas but must be tied to secure the canvas to the steel frame.

At the bottom of each leg, there is a metal piece with a hole to place a stabilizing peg through. The rope must be tied to four pegs at one end of the rope and the canopy at each of the four corners. Then, the rope can be extended out from the canopy, and the pegs can be stuck into the ground.

Durability

The AmazonBasics Pop-Up Canopy Tent is water-resistant, and the cathedral roof lets small amounts of water roll-off. The polyester material is durable against the sun’s UV rays. This tent is not durable enough to be used during heavy rain or wind., but it does work well on uneven surfaces.

Accessories

This product has four components. It includes the canopy for coverage. The tent has 4 pieces of rope and 8 pegs in total. Additionally, a storage bag with wheels can contain all of these pieces.

There are no sidewalls or sandbags available for purchase. Although, any sandbag will likely work, even from a different manufacturer. Sidewalls typically custom-fit, and we have not found a set that are compatible with this frame.

Warranty

The AmazonBasics Pop-Up Canopy Tent comes with the AmazonBasics One-Year Standard Warranty. This warranty is limited to 1 year, but allows full replacement of the product, either new or refurbished, repair of the broken parts with new or refurbished pieces, or a full refund of the product. There is no guarantee that the parts will be identical to the original pieces, and this warranty does not include accidental damage.

Replacement Parts

This canopy tent does not include replacement parts upon purchase. However, replacement parts may be available through the AmazonBasics One-Year Standard Warranty. Otherwise, if something breaks, you’ll need to replace the entire set.

Reviews

Positive, common comments often include the affordable price and the quality of the materials used are good, polyester, and high-quality steel. Reviews often claim the assembly and disassembly is simple. Additionally, assembly and transport are convenient because of the wheeled bag. Other positive themes are the sun protection, the stability on many types of surfaces, and the warranty.

Negative reviews on the AmazonBasics Pop-Up Canopy Tent include the limited durability in the wind and rain. Many reviews claim that the legs are not stable under storm conditions and very flimsy, possibly bendable. Many reviews claim to have leaks in the canvas, and the cathedral-style pools water at the top. Reviewers also state this tent only lasted them just a few months of frequent use. It would be a bummer to have to replace your tent every season.
